How Competitors Help:
All competitors use a dedicated fish capture app to log their catches. We strongly encourage registering all fish, as every data point is valuable.
The Science Behind the App:
- Health & Growth: We use scientific methods and specific measurements to assess the health and physical condition of the fish.
- Monitoring Growth Rates: By correlating a fish’s size with the year fingerlings were released, we can accurately estimate growth rates.
- Ecosystem Health: Growth rates are a powerful indicator of the lake’s overall health, as they depend on variables like food availability, dam levels, habitat, and weather patterns.
